Former member of g.o.d Kim Tae Woo has finally completed his military service and returned to the music scene! I like g.o.d as well as Tae Woo's solo material, so I had high expectations for T-Virus, and it certainly fulfilled them.

We kick off with 하고 싶은 말 Part 2, a crisp R&B song. I absolutely love the way Tae Woo's voice flows so smoothly through the melody, while at the same time having strength. The piano arrangement is rich and beautiful, and I love the addition of strings as well. It's a short song, but extremely effective and powerful.
It fades out into the radically different Faster - an upbeat and lighthearted song that's a lot of fun while still retaining musicality. It sounds slightly dated, but that only adds to its charm.
사랑비 is a creamy, light pop song. Yes, it is a bit predictable, but the full-bodied piano accompaniment and hopeful chorus, coupled with Tae Woo's strong, warm voice, gives the song a bright atmosphere without being too sugary or cheesy. A well-balanced song that shows that Tae Woo's experience in the music industry definitely gives him a competitive edge, although I was surprised to see that this was the principal track - I really liked it, but didn't find it to be the best song of the mini-album.
I was expecting 내가 야! 하면 넌 예! to be a ballad (I always assume duets are ballads for some reason) but it turned out to be a refreshing R&B-influenced track. I love the bass & percussion - it's strong without being overpowering, and there's not much else accompaniment-wise but a few guitar riffs here and there which really lightens the song up. Both singers are well-suited to the style and the simple arrangement, rather than revealing flaws, only highlights their voices. I really like the brief dialogue near the end of the song too, I generally dislike dialogue in songs but it's incorporated very cleanly.
점점점 is so addictive. Tae Woo's smooth yet crisp voice is really what makes this song work and come out clear yet flowing. It's a mid-tempo track with R&B-style vocals but a rich arrangement that includes a low-range piano accompaniment that really adds depth and colour to the song.
기억과 추억 features his fellow g.o.d members - definitely a track that I was looking forward to. It's really nice to see them singing together, and they sound great. A catchy, mid-tempo pop track. I've noticed that this mini-album uses a lot of piano, and I love it. 기억과 추억 is no exception, the piano really makes the synth-y beat more vivid.

Honestly, I would love to recommend every track of this mini-album. I've felt like lately the Korean music industry has been a bit stagnant, and T-Virus is definitely one of the strongest releases I've heard in recent times. Tae Woo's voice is fantastic alone or collaborating with others, and composition-wise each song is original and innovative yet mainstream enough to appeal to most audiences. Highly recommended!
